Welcome to Northern Michigan! We can’t wait to celebrate our wedding with you in one of our favorite places!
Since summer is a busy season, we recommend booking accommodations, flights, and rental cars early.
TRANSPORTATION (to and from airport)
Part of the charm of Northern Michigan is that it is less developed and a slower pace of life. You won’t be able to call an Uber or Lyft, so if you’re flying in, we recommend reserving a rental car in advance!
Transportation to and from the Welcome Party & Wedding Day events will be provided to those staying at our designated hotel block at Boyne Mountain Resort.
AIRPORT OPTIONS
Traverse City Cherry Capital Airport
Traverse City is just about an hour and fifteen minutes from Walloon Lake. From here you can rent a car, or schedule a shuttle or taxi to take you to Petoskey.
Pelston Regional Airport
Pelston is roughly 40 minutes from Walloon Lake. From here you can rent a car, or schedule a shuttle or taxi to take you to Petoskey.
Grand Rapids Gerald R. Ford International Airport
Grand Rapids is roughly 3 hours from Petoskey. We recommend renting a car from this airport.
Detroit Metropolitan Airport
Detroit is roughly 4 hours from Petoskey. We recommend renting a car from this airport.
Boyne Mountain Resort

Shuttles will be provided between the resort and all wedding events, including the Welcome Party, Ceremony & Reception, and the After Party. Boyne Mountain Resort is conveniently located about 10–15 minutes from both Walloon Lake Village and Walloon Lake Country Club, ensuring easy access to all festivities.
If you prefer to stay elsewhere and arrange your own transportation, there are plenty of wonderful Airbnb rentals and hotels nearby. Guests staying elsewhere will still have parking available at both the Welcome Party and the Ceremony & Reception.
WEEKEND SHUTTLE SCHEDULE
Welcome Party
Shuttles will run between Boyne Mountain Resort and Shadow Trail cottages to the Welcome Party and back from 5:00–11:00 pm. While the party begins at 8:00 pm, shuttles will start at 5:00 pm so guests can enjoy dinner in town beforehand—check out the Things to Do tab for restaurant recommendations near Walloon Lake Inn!
Ceremony & Reception
Shuttles will run from Boyne Mountain Resort and Shadow Trail cottages to Walloon Lake Country Club for the Ceremony and Reception. In the evening, guests can return to their hotel or home at their convenience, with shuttles running throughout the night. Shuttles will also be available after the After Party.
*To the Ceremony & Reception: Shuttles will run from 3:00 – 4:30 pm to ensure everyone arrives on time for the 5:00 pm ceremony.
*Leaving the Reception: Shuttles will run all evening to take guests back home at their leisure.
After Party
At the end of the reception, shuttles will take guests to the After Party and continue running until 2:00 am, returning to Boyne Mountain Resort and Shadow Trail cottages.
TAXI/CAR SERVICE NOTE
Ubers and Lyfts will not be available. Rental cars are available at all airport options and we recommend booking in advance. Transportation will be provided to and from wedding weekend events from the hotel block at Boyne Mountain Resort.
If you do not rent a car, there is the option to schedule rides with taxis or car services to get to and from the airport.
